Week beginning 18.3.13
20 Mar 2013
Super Science Week!
This week has been packed full of fun experiments, life cycles, mysterious eggs and wise owls. What fun we’ve had!
Our literacy and maths have, therefore, been Science based this week.
Literacy:
In literacy we wrote about the life cycle of a chicken and how the chick develops inside the egg. We wrote instructions for our plant experiment and each day we recorded our observations as to what had changed and what had stayed the same.
We wrote a hypothesis as to what we thought could be inside the giant purple egg. Following this, we wrote a witness statement for the police telling them all about the giant purple egg. We then drew and described the creature we thought could be inside the egg and wrote a newspaper article about our day with the mysterious egg. For a whole school competition we designed and labelled our very own invention. After the owls came to see us we wrote an information leaflet about nocturnal animals.
What a very busy week!

Also take another look at the links from Science on te homework page for last week. There was so much information. Some of this information may seem clearer now that we have had this fun science week!
