Sewing puppets

27 Mar 2013

Today we made chick puppets.

We needed:
  • Hessian material
  • A needle
  • Thread
  • Scissors

1)  First put your hand on the Hessian with your thumb and fingers spread open.
2) Next draw around your hand and cut it out.
3) After that thread the thread through the hole in the needle and knot it to stop it from falling out.
4)  Now use the needle to thread the thread through the Hessian. You need to knot the end of the thread to stop it from coming all the way through.
5) Finally thread the needle in and out of the Hessian, keeping to the outside of your hand, to make your puppet. If you like, you can add detail to your puppet to make it look more like a chick.

Can you tell someone else how to make one?
Have a go yourself!
