Sounds:
This week and next your children will be learning the following sounds:
ue u-e ew
Please practise saying these sounds at home with your children and talking about/spelling words which have these sounds in them e.g.
blue, true (remind children of the 'oo' sound) and statue, cue ('yoo' sound), flute, shute, (oo), stew, flew etc
Children should also practise reading ‘non-words’ with these sounds in e.g. buesh, hueph, thule, chuep, cewz, wewth, etc to support the development of phonetic decoding without word recognition.
