1DL Measuring in Maths

10 May 2013

This week in Maths we have been estimating and measuring capacity using standard and non-standard units.

We have been using the vocabulary most/least/full/half-ful/empty/litre/millilitre.

Here the children are working out how many cubes are needed to fill the cup.

Here the children are working out how many plastic sorting bears will fit into a plastic cup.

On this table the children are working out how many dominoes are needed to fill the cup.

Can you remember if it was more or less than the bears?
Why?

Outside the children are using water and 500ml spoons to work out the capacity of each container.

The children like using the laptops to reinforce the learning they have been doing in class.

The children have asked if I would put the links onto the school website so they could have another go at home.

Which container has the most?http://www.abc.net.au/countusin/games/game15.htm
